Upon us are the best 10 days of the year (Islamic Calendar) – the days of action – the days of Dhul Hijjah
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi shares with us tips on how to spend our time in these blessed days.
Dhu al-Ḥijjah (ذو الحجة) is the twelfth and final month in the Islamic calendar.
This is a very sacred month in the Islamic calendar, marking the end of the year. It is in this month in which the Hajj (pilgrimage) takes place.
"Dhu al-Hijjah" literally means "Possessor of the Pilgrimage." It is during this month that pilgrims from all around the world congregate at Mecca to visit the Kaaba. The Hajj is performed on the eighth, ninth and the tenth of this month. Day of Arafa takes place on the ninth of the month. Eid al-Adha, the "Festival of the Sacrifice", begins on the tenth day and ends on the thirteenth.
The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, and months begin when new moon is sighted. Since the Islamic lunar calendar year is 11 to 12 days shorter than the solar year, Dhu al-Hijjah migrates throughout the seasons.

If words were people, Nigga would be a Celebrity. A hugely famous and infamous man.
English doesn't view words as gendered, but many languages do and Nigga's definitely masculine given his aggression, his cockiness, his obsession with obscenity, his love of shocking others. Nigga would have a presence and radiance and a big reputation preceding him. He knows how powerful and frightening he is so he has a badass walk like Shaft and when he enters a room or a sentence he easily dominates it. Nigga would be like Michael Corleone in the GodFather saga: a criminal who says he's trying to go straight but is having a hard time separating himself from his history. He says he trying to change, to spread love instead of hate, but no one will let him forget his nefarious past and secretly, he doesn't want them to forget because his wicked past is what supersizes him.
Nigga has been a seminal word for hiphop generation, Which has used Nigga in the way Richard Pryor showed us.

This coming Friday, Japanese fast fashion chain Uniqlo will be opening its largest global flagship store to date on 5th Avenue in New York City. Thanks to Selectism we can give you a detailed look inside the impressive new mega store.
“Designed by Wonderwall (you know the name), the new UNIQLO shop will be the largest single retailer on Fifth Ave. with more than 89,000 square feet of retail space across three floors. Those familiar with the UNIQLO SOHO location and the congestion that fills it during the busy weekend, will want to explore the new Fifth Ave location. The retail space is open and wide for shopping and browsing. More than 200 LCD and LED screens throughout the new store will deliver UNIQLO styled looks and more.
The UNIQLO Fifth Ave. opening has been blitzed hard in the media for months now and Friday will be a exceptional day for the retailer. Those looking for store opening specials will be pleased to hear that their basic v-neck cashmere sweater will sell for $50 (down from the normal $99) and Japanese denim lovers will want to be quick to lock in a pair of slim or straight denim for $9.99. That’s right: $9.99.”
Largest store on 5th Avenue? Denim for 9.99 USD for the opening? I think those are enough reasons to pass by this coming Friday.

“God’s Son is my favorite album by you,” Tyler said. “And my second is probably Street’s Disciple,” he continued.
“Get the fuck outta here,” Nas responded.
“You, Em, Jay, Snoop, like, you guys all started when you was exactly my age,” Tyler said. “The fact that you guys are still here makes me just always think, like, Fuck, could I?”
“Oh, you definitely can,” Nas replied. “Someone like you is, you’re interesting, for a lot of reasons. So someone like you, you can’t wait to see what’s next.”-Is(Smile)-
