Kardinal Offishall: The Invention of Truth [Video]

From Kardi’s upcoming album with Nottz, A.M.T.R.I.M. [Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself].

Dope ! Good Story Teller...
Real intelligence is not a degree on the wall, but to what degree you are able to function and retain knowledge in serious situations. The TRUTH of the matter is that many of us fail, when faced with the opportunity to make the best decisions for our lives. This story is about me trying to be my own man. It’s about me trying to elevate and take the next step in life, no matter what my “friends” might say. For me, this is “The Invention of Truth”… – Kardinal Offishall

Mr. Brainwash: “If I believe it, it’s art for me”

Mr Brainwash
Mr. Brainwash, are you an art piece by Banksy?

What’s an art piece? Maybe I am. If you think about it, why not? I’m real; I am who I am. I’m continuing. What you see now is mine, Banksy has nothing to do with it. I’m here, it’s me. My life is my life; nobody’s going to take that from me. His life is his life. I mean, we have a connection, we have something that connected us for a movie, but life goes on.

Do you introduce yourself as Mr. Brainwash or Thierry Guetta?

Both names are the same – Mr. Brainwash a.k.a. Thierry Guetta. People know me as both names. It’s the same person.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned from Bansky?

If I learned anything from him, it would be passion. You know, two people meet each other and they connect. That’s why there is a movie about it because there was a connection from him to me and me to him. There is this connection that made something.

Were you ever tempted to tell people who he really is? A lot of people are interested in that and would pay a lot of money.

I don’t get bought out. I’m a real person with real trust and that’s how it is. You don’t need to know; it’s not going to make a difference if you know. It’s just going to serve a little problem in your head but it doesn’t make a difference.

How do you feel about Banksy stealing your film?

He didn’t steal my film.

So you let him have it?

No, we were involved together.

But it was your footage that he then turned into a movie.

So? It doesn’t matter. It’s that kind of film; he kind of put it together. It’s teamwork. It’s something that is done. A movie is not done by one person, it’s done with a lot of people. The editor did his work, the filmmaker did his work – it’s a whole thing all together.

Were there moments when you thought that this whole thing would go wrong and not work out?

I didn’t care, you know. I mean I go all the way and whatever happens happens. At least I don’t regret that I didn’t do it.

But there was money involved, right?

There is money involved. But money you can always make back. I think in life a situation cannot happen all the time. You have one moment in life that you decide to do something and you go all the way. I work with a passion and my passion is what drives me into craziness and sometimes craziness makes you do things that you don’t do normally.

Has making money changed the way you make art?

No, sometimes art without money is better art. Sometimes you do something better without money so money doesn’t make a difference. Money makes it happen that you can do bigger things. You can fly, you can go anywhere. It’s something that keeps you rolling and keeps you doing what you want to do in life.

But without money you wouldn’t be able to put on the exhibitions you do. You don’t actually make the art pieces yourself, you have people doing them for you, correct?

Not really the art, but some installations that’s for sure. I have a mind that is bigger than what people think. Sometimes I want something that is 20 feet high and it’s a television and I’m not going to be the one putting it together. It would take me the whole show to do it. So hiring some people to have what I have in my mind – it’s whatever it is. I get things done the way that I want it. So it doesn’t matter. Like, somebody who built the Eiffel tower, it’s not the artist who is going to build it. He’s going to have some other people that are going to build it for him and he’s going to be there to see the evolution of it and I guess everything else too. Like building a building, you know? Some people have it in their mind, they design it, and some people help to create it.

Can you draw?

Yeah, you know I’m good for me. I don’t know if I’m good for you. Art doesn’t have any way – art is freedom and you can do it any way you want. I can take a bottle and put it on top of this table and say this is art. If I believe it, it’s art for me, and it can be art for other people.

So what is the goal of your art?

What I want to bring to people is something that people can smile at and something that can be funny. It’s not playing jokes or being funny, it’s to be real and to do whatever you want. There are no rules in life, nobody can tell you the rules. You live your life and you’re trying to be the best at it and you’re trying to follow your dream and nobody’s going to stop it.

Me & My Quran: Pray For Us

I Try and Be Grateful For All and EveryThing Allah Has Blessed Me With...

All The Things You See and Don't See.

But My Greatest Gift is... That I Was Able To Memorize The Entire Quran By Heart [in Arabic].

I Am Truly Thankful and Grateful To Allah For This Great and Prestigious Blessing and Accomplishment [With It Comes Many Responsibilities and Tests!]. People Request For Me To Pray For Them All The Time, But I Am Requesting EVERYONE To Pray For Me... More So The Protection of The Blessings in My Mind and Heart, and Strengthening of My Faith and Soul !

Thank You For Those Who Pray For Me and The Safe-Guarding Of My Quran and Thank You To All Who Inshallah [God Willing] In The Future Will Pray For Me !

Memorizing The Quran is Not an Easy Task [Took Me A Year and a Half]. But The True Tests Come Once You Complete and Go Into The World and Become Faced With Trails and Tribulations of All Sorts... Shaitan [Satan] Knows The Huge Blessing That is With In Your Heart and Tries EVERYTHING To Knock You Off Your Block and Make You Stumble.

Those Who Memorized The Quran Are Like "Walking Quran's".

Anyways... The Purpose of This Post is Just To Say " Please Make Dua [Pray] For Me, My Family, My Success, My Faith, My Religion, My Friends, and Specifically... PLEASE Pray For The Protection of The Words of Allah in My Heart'.
Thank You, -Is[Smile]-

Concept Phone: Fujitsu Brick

Fujitsu Brick

The "Brick” was the not-so-fond term given to phones such as Motorola’s DynaTAC 8000X back in the 1980s. If a phone were to earn a similar moniker today, it almost certainly would mean it was destined for the scrap heap.

Not this brick, though. Designed by Shaocheng Huang & Yuyin Huang, this transparent PC doesn’t carry any of the bulk of its namesake. Instead, the clear glass machine can be used to magnify text and objects, translate foreign documents, capture film and stills, and even act as a projector.

It can also connect to any TV screen or monitor and be used as a much bigger version of the screen on the Brick. Taking a leaf out of Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii U console, the Brick is capable of “throwing” images and data to other devices.

I'm not entirely sure if Fujitsu is genuinely exploring this idea with the Huangs, but what I do know is we’ve just taken a step closer to Steve Jobs’ concept of a post-PC world.

The PC uses its transparent screen as a lens to take stills and video.

The post-PC device is designed to be carried in the pocket and not on your back.

The device can “throw” images to and from a device.

It can be used to translate reading material.

The Brick can connect with any TV and use it as a monitor.

It can magnify things, too.

Pretty Dope, I Wanna Get One !

Muhammad Ali - "The Greatest" Boxer of All Time !

Today the legend that is Muhammad Ali turns seventy.

The conviction and courage Muhammad Ali has shown throughout his life continues to inspire millions of
people around the world.

Ali’s work to promote respect, hope and understanding,
has empowered adults and children everywhere to be as great as they can be !
It can be argued that it was actually outside the ring that Ali accomplished his greatest work. As a man of thought, moral stature and humanitarian goodwill, his eloquent words carried great weight. As a tireless campaigner for racial and social justice, his stance was always noble and dignified. His was the indomitable, lion-hearted spirit of both noble warrior and compassionate, loving human being, deeply offended by injustice and wishing to right the wrongs of the world. It was even said that in his prime during the 1970s, Ali’s was the most familiar face on earth. Not bad for someone who started out life as a poor black boy from the wrong side of the tracks in Jim Crow-era Kentucky.
Ali was a man of huge integrity. In today’s tawdry world, that word carries little weight or even meaning. But in opposing the Vietnam war in 1967 (an unpopular stance which saw him stripped of his world title and barred from fighting for three and a half years when he was in his prime), Ali resolutely stood up for what he believed in and, despite great personal hardship, remained true to his convictions.

His boxing exploits undeniably electrified the planet, and in so doing, afforded him the ultimate platform for his views. But it was his civil rights rhetoric and his trenchant critiques of the bigotry of white America which made the world listen up and take note of the wrong-doings in his country.
Frail: The elderly Ali is still determined to fulfil his champion's role
Moreover, as a redeemer of traduced dignity to black people the world over, Ali was not only a bona fide sporting legend, but a human icon to countless millions. He single-handedly restored dignity and pride to the black race at a time when, in the face of constant white oppression, it needed it most. There is a generation of black men in America and Britain right now walking tall who owe their self-respect and sense of self-esteem in no small part to the actions of Muhammad Ali. Watching those Ali fights in the 60s and 70s enabled a whole generation of downtrodden people to go to school the following day and deal with the taunts and racist abuse.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Day is a Federal Holiday in celebration of the Legendary Marin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday on January 15.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a Man of great sincerity and wisdom. A man of patience, love, and vision. Dr. King had the faith and vision that one day we would all be united and set free to be who we are. His vision stood long before and after hope was gone, yet we prevailed.

In piecing together our rich history and overcoming of great triumph, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., would be proud to see how far we have come and how far we are still willing to strive to go [with determination and strong will].

The breakthrough for victory did not subside when Segregation Laws were put to end. Victory is marching on after the breakthrough of a barrier. Racism still exists, and we must aware ourselves that we are not at the finish line yet.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., didn’t have a dream for us to get what we want [freedom] and stop fighting. His dream was to motivate us to continue fighting for what we deserve, we must continue marching on to keep faith and to discover the impossible, so we can overcome the impossible.

Dean Atta: I Am Nobody's Nigger [Poem]

"I Am Nobody's Nigger," a poem-gone-viral dedicated to the 1993 murder of South London teenager Stephen Lawrence.

Written and recorded by spoken word artist Dean Atta on his iPhone last week was instantaneously being passed on by listeners and popping up on on UK blogs, leading to coverage in several major British newspaper outlets.

The poem was inspired by the Stephen Lawrence case, an ongoing major news story in the UK since the early '90s. In 1993, the South London teenager was murdered in a racist attack, and it was only last week, 18 years later, that his killers were finally brought to justice.

What if Tim Tebow were Muslim?

The NFL star has been praised for his public Christianity. It's been different for athletes who follow Islam...
Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow’s profession of faith has thrust the mixture of sport and religion into the national spotlight in a way that few can remember.

Students have been suspended for “Tebowing” — dropping to one knee to pray, even if you’re the only one doing it — in a school hallway in New York. Rick Perry claimed that he would be the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses. “Saturday Night Live” lampooned Tebow’s fan-boy love for Jesus. In response, Pat Robertson has claimed that the skit demonstrates “anti-Christian bigotry.” His supporters even called for a boycott of HBO after a Bill Maher tweet made fun of Tebow and his relationship to Jesus after his Denver Broncos lost to the Buffalo Bills.

After an overtime upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend, Tebow’s Broncos play the top-seeded New England Patriots on Saturday. For at least one more media cycle, there will appear to be no way to separate Tim Tebow – the person, the quarterback, the Christian – from his religion.
