Most Popular Cities in 2012

Yahoo! tracked surges of searches on the Web to these top cities in the last year to see what most captures the attention of vacationers. And it's a diverse and at times surprising list. Here, the most searched-for cities on Yahoo!. – By Claudine Zap, Yahoo!

My Plan for 2013 is To Touch Every City on This List I Haven't Touched Already... Inshallah ! Who With Me ?

Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Apparently, what happens in Vegas does not stay there -- because the hot spot is the most searched-for city on Yahoo!. The destination showcased in "The Hangover" has plenty to offer beyond gambling and bachelor parties -- consider its world-class dining, the eye-popping, free fountain show at the Bellagio, and nightlife that includes performances of Cirque du Soleil and Celine Dion, and there really is something for everyone.

Think of it as the Paris of the Midwest. With museums like the Chicago Art Institute, breathtaking architecture from Renzo Piano and Frank Lloyd Wright, soaring Sears Tower, and sparkling Lake Michigan, it's no mystery why this city is one of the top-searched tourist spots on Yahoo!.

The pricey city was in the global spotlight thanks to the Summer Olympic Games -- and the Diamond Jubilee celebration that marked Queen Elizabeth's 60th year on the throne. But plenty of other attractions, from Big Ben to Buckingham Palace to museums like the Tate Modern to yes, the Warner Bros. studios tour of "Harry Potter," tempt searchers to this town, too.

New York City

New York

It's hard to compete with the "city that never sleeps," and the Big Apple consistently draws tourists from around the world to its teeming and tiny island -- an island that was recently hit hard by Sandy, but as Broadway says, the show must go on. Along with checking out iconic sites like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, hoof it over the Brooklyn Bridge to explore the hipster mecca.

Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C.

As the nation's capital, the city is accustomed to tourists and doesn't disappoint: a vast network of museums, mostly free, is at your disposal, including the Smithsonian Institution. Monuments from Washington to Lincoln to Martin Luther King Jr. certainly merit a visit. And with a subway system, it's easy to explore the quirky neighborhoods beyond the city center.

San Francisco

San Francisco

The city by the bay is a paradise for food lovers: from gourmet food trucks to ice cream shops to farmers' markets, travelers can easily eat their way through the multicultural neighborhoods that make up the 7-by-7-mile city. Luckily, walking all those hills will work off many a meal.

San Diego

San Diego

The city offers the San Diego Zoo, plenty of beaches, and a beach culture that includes serious fish tacos and an obsessive focus on handcrafted brew, not to mention the historic Gaslamp Quarter for dining and nightlife. And don't forget, the city is home to the pop-culture phenom ComicCon, the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world.

Forbes named it the "shopping capital of the Middle East." That's tax-free to you. Beyond that, there are some sites that appeal to Web browsers: From an indoor ski slope located at the Dubai Mall to the Nad al Sheba racetrack that races camels by day, thoroughbreds by night, this city has to be seen to be believed.

New Orleans

New Orleans

Sure, you've heard of Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras, but as visitors also know, every day is a party in this place. From the music to the crawfish, the tourist playground of the French Quarter and the Old World mansions of the Garden District, the city is, quite simply, magical.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Travel + Leisure calls it "Asia’s most cosmopolitan city," and with good reason: a "superb" subway system, cheap cabs, and bilingual signs make the place easy to navigate and worth investigating, from high-end boutiques to tai chi in the parks.

Way of Wade “Christmas” PEs for Dwyane Wade

EveryOne Who Knows Me... Knows I've Been a Miami Heat Fan Since I Was 9 and Dwyane Wade is My Favorite Player.

I've Been Going Back and Forth With MySelf If I Should Get His New Kicks... Not Feeling Em, But I'm Feeling The Christmas Colorway Though... Might See Me in a Pair With Something Custom on My Back This Spring for The PlayOffs !

With all the Christmas games set up for today, we knew it would only be a matter of time before the Christmas PE hit the web. NBA Champion Dwayne Wade will be keeping it very Christmas for his signature look and has actually revealed three pairs of Li-Ning Way of Wades for the holiday game. The first two pairs take a more traditional Christmas look with red and green, while the third pair takes its inspiration from the red and white candy cane. Be sure to check the game today against OKC to see which pair he rocks on the court.

Review of Melba's Harlem... [Not a Good Experience]

This Past Weekend Was Interesting on So Many Levels... The Plan Was to Wake Up at 7am on Saturday and Head to Queen and Get Some Kicks With My Boy "Jah", But That Was Cancelled Because of Rowdy Individuals.

Then I Get a Call From My Brother Mikail to Go Get Breakfast at This Spot in Harlem Named "Melba's", I Had Never Heard of It [But Jah and Mikail are Chefs, So They Heard Good Things About it].

From The Outside it Very Simple, When We Get Inside it's a Cool Ambiance and Comfortable. We Were Greeted and  Seated [Mind You I'm With 3 Experienced Chefs... Mikail, Khalid and Jah],

We Heard The Chicken and Waffles Were Great [Was on The Food Network], Seeing I Only Eat Halal Food I Ordered Catfish and Waffles... Everyone Else Ordered What They Order [Chicken and Waffles, Turkey Bacon, Eggs, Omelets, Spanish... etc].

We Get into Conversation and Then We Realize 2 Tables Get Their Food Before Us [30mins After We Ordered], We Look Around and Our Waiter "Thomas" is No Where to Be Seen [Didn't Check on The Table Once After He Took Our Orders]. Then Another Table Gets Food, Then We Begin to Complain. 40minutes Later He Comes and Says "Ummm The Receipts Got Mixed Up and Your Food Will Be Here Soon"...], We Look at One Another With The "C'mon Son Face" and Say Ok.

As You Can Assume He Never Comes Back... Over Walks The Manager Sandra, and She Says "Anyone Would Like a Mimosa or Anything...", My Brother Mikail Says "It's Free Right". She Says "I'm Over Here Right?". I Don't Drink So I Say "Can You Make Me a Special Virgin Drink"... LMAOOO, She Comes Back and Brings Me and Jah "Mango Juice From a Carton, I Kid You Not... With a Splash of Canned Orange Juice... We Added HALF our Glasses of Water to Make it "Better".] Hilarious !!!

So Finally Our Food Comes... Man O Man, Did The "Chefs" Have a lot to Say.
Khalid Didn't Get His Food, They Added Some NASTY Sweet Potato Fries to All of Our Plates as an "Extra", My Catfish Was OK, The Best Thing Was The EggNog Waffles... But They Were Small and Not Filling.

Anyway Below Are Pictures With Captions... This Was THEE WORST Restaurant Experience of My Life !

Catfish and Waffles... Waffles Were Small, but Tasty. Catfish Was More Like Whiting. I Like Fish So it Was Doable.
as You Can See, No Syrup on My Plate, Had to Ask for it.
LOL, My Bro Showing How Much Oil They Put in The Spinach He Ordered... SMH !
This Guy is a FOOL.
This Spinach, See The Oil Under The Bowl and STILL in The Bowl.
The "Special" Drink I Asked For... Wasn't So Special.
Anyone Who Knows Me, Knows I Don't Waste Food, Just Couldn't Finish it... Sweet Potato Fries Weren't Good.
Eggs Were Ok, Asked For Pepper Jack Cheese and it Wasn't Cooked in. Just a Couple Strips on Top.
Cracked Cup, Very Unsanitary and a Health Violation.
Chipped Plate, Def Not Safe... Coulda Cut MySelf.
Thomas Never Came Back to Refill My Water After The 2HRs We Were There... Peep The Unfinished Drink Behind it.
Nice Presentation... But All I Ordered Was Eggs.

I'm a Very Easy Person to Please and Allow a lot to Slide... But When it Comes to Customer Service and Food, They're are Limits ! and This Was WAY Beyond The Limits and I HAD to Blog About it.

I Will Say Sandra [The Manager, Was Very Helpful and Comped Our Meals and Encouraged Us to Not Let This Be The Last Time We Come and This Give it a Second Chance... Which We Will Next Week For Dinner].

The Things is I'm Only One Person Speaking About Their Experience... It Was 4 of U, So Imagine What They Have to Say as Chefs !!!

You Never Know Who You're Serving, Your Service Has to Always Be on Point, No Matter What it is You're Doing.

O and I Ended Up Spending $900+ On Sneakers and Custom Clothing at Atmos, PaperBrownBag and 21 Mercer to Make MySelf Feel Better... [Pics on My Instagram].

Will Power, By: Calligrafist

We barely understand the role willpower plays in our actions. When you raise your opinion of yourself and what you are capable of it has a decided influence on what you do. For instance, you feel more comfortable taking some risk, knowing that you are always able to get back up on your feet if it fails. Taking this risk will then make your energy level rise… you have to meet the challenge or go under, and you will find untapped reservoirs of creativity within you. People are drawn to those who act boldly, and their attention and faith in you will have the effect of heightening your confidence. Feeling less confined by doubts, you give freer reign to your individuality, which makes everything you do more effective. This movement towards confidence has a self-fulfilling quality that is impossible to deny.

Moving towards such self-belief does not mean you cut yourself off from others and their opinions of your actions. You must make a constant measure of how people receive your work, and use to maximum effect their feedback. But this process must begin from a position of inner strength. If you are dependent on their judgments for your sense of worth, then your ego will always be weak and fragile. You will have no center or sense of balance. You will wilt under criticisms and soar too high with any praise. Their opinions are merely helping you shape your work, not your self-image. If you make mistakes, if the public judges you negatively, you have an unshakable inner core that can accept such judgments, but you remain convinced of your own worth.

Vantage Point [EP]: HazAli

Here is The New EP from HazAli [FortheLovers Music]

Awesome Producer and Writer, Checkout his Recent Project Vantage Point.

On soundcloud listeners can download songs exclusively created for the music social site
on bandcamp you can purchase the deluxe edition which includes over 20 tracks.

Also below is the thank you note that goes with this project. It will give a idea of how this EP was created.

In the summer of 2009, I released my first project, without a dollar to my name or a person to cosign me. I jumped in the fire head first. Only a handful of people downloaded the project. It was my first time out so perhaps people felt  compelled to say nice things, instead of what they really felt. Five months later, I released R&B Collections Vol. 2, which totally bombed!  Not even 200 people downloaded this mix tape. However, because I was becoming more active with my music, producers and music heads were listening. A very close friend who believed in my music, took the project to an esteemed producer. He told her candidly that I needed a lot of work, that basically I wasn't ready! He was right! All my life I worked hard at trying to sound like the next man. My confidence in making music was at an all time low. After a long talk with my sisters, they encouraged me to stay positive and continue working on my craft. After this awakening, I started to see music differently, I
approached it from an angle that I never knew existed inside of me. From that moment on, my music became my life, it became my vantage point.
The process of making this project was a very difficult one, not just musically, but spiritually and emotionally. The road to completing this project was a also very long one. These songs contain my joy, my pain, my faults, my gains. This EP is my life. I hope this project allows you to step into my world, and view life from my eyes.
A special "I OWE YOU" to my queen, Rashidah Mendez, who has helped me find my sound and who has been very patient with me through this music thang! You, of all people, know how hard this lifestyle is. I appreciate everything—supporting the late
sessions, taking care of our beautiful family, and being my number one fan! This one's for you!
Hasna, Zara & Zaina, Daddy loves you. I hope when you listen to this project, when you all are a bit older, and an understanding of what I mean by "work hard and stay
focused" manifests. Hopefully you girls will internalize the content, allowing it to serve as a road map through some of life's obstacles. I love all of you.
To my mother, Salwa Abdus-Salaam,  who returned back to Allah when I was 8 years old. You planted the seed of music in me. Watching you enjoy music at a very young age, catalyze this adventure! I miss you immensely and I constantly pray for you. Inshallah I will see you again.
To my father, I thank you for every conversation, every word that helped me become a better man. You have always pushed me to do well, whatever my passion was. I realize your spiritual guidance has helped me beyond words through the process of creating this EP. I can never repay you for your diligence as a father. So, thank you and I love you.
To my family, thank you for being there! You guys are my support, my backbone, my everything! I appreciate everyone of you, and you all hold a special place in my heart.
To my fans, thank you for every download , every comment, every show you attended, thank you for supporting my passion. You all are the reason I work harder and harder everyday. We (the lovers) all have come a long way! So this is a great day, not just for music, but for what we stand for! I thank you all for going down this road with me!
To my music family--Siaira Shawn, Five Eighty, Lady J, Denise Cotton, Brittani Gravely, Rodamental, Ruby, Jamila Best, DigMarie, Janine Carter, Elliott Monroe, Dot The One,

Brother Ali was recently on the West Side of Canada and caught up with Nardwuar. As always, The Human Serviette came bearing gifts and extensive research. On an unrelated note, “Mourning In America” is one of the best videos this year [I Agree B.Dot].
